Staff Analysis of the Legislation

This legislation requires all public water systems serving a city, town, or other "similar public body" to test the water every year.  If the lead level exceeds 5 parts per billion, then it must be reported on the water bill.  If the lead level exceeds 15 parts per billion, then it must be reported to the Department of Environmental Protection Director.
